Prof. Roni Granot
Roni Granot is an associate professor at the Musicology Dept. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds the Hans Slater chair in Musicology. Roni studies different aspects of humans’ ability to process, remember, and respond emotionally to music. She is interested in aspects related to musical expectations, surprise, and tension, cross-modal associations in music, music perception in a cross-cultural perspective, music and well-being, and music and memory. She views her students as companions in a fascinating journey and her mission and joy is to help them follow the route that takes them one step closer towards understanding the questions they are passionate about. She has published in numerous journals and holds collaborations with numerous colleagues in Israel and abroad. She currently serves as Head or the Arts Institute at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
